Climate change is a real and pressing concern that demands practical, science-based solutions. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and shifting environmental patterns pose long-term risks to our communities, economy, and way of life. Texas has already experienced these impacts firsthand — from stronger hurricanes to devastating droughts and wildfires. We cannot afford to ignore the evidence or delay action.
At the same time, Texas is home to a booming population and expanding industries that drive increasing demand for energy. Fossil fuels — including oil and natural gas — have long been the backbone of our economy and remain essential to meeting our energy needs in the near and medium term. Texas is facing a significant push towards a system that the majority of Texans don’t support - the taxpayers funding private schools. We’re already facing an educational budget issue, and the legislature isn’t focused on solving our problems. They’re taking money from out of state billionaires, to enable those billionaires businesses to take our taxpayer dollars.
Forward is working on developing real solutions to our problems. Education Policy committee is working to release a proposal during Summer 2025. -

Local governments provide essential daily services from public safety and infrastructure to health services and community development. They should have authority to maintain high quality standards, follow best practices, and decide how to fund and leverage assets for your benefit.

Standards and Accountability: Your local officials must answer to you. We support citizen oversight to ensure governments uphold rules and regulations. Accountability rests with your elected representatives and community.
Transparent Contracts: Local governments must use resources wisely through transparent contracting with clear public records and conflict of interest disclosures. We prevent improper "quid pro quo" deals.
Quality and Efficiency: You deserve quality services, well maintained records, and efficient operations. Services must be accessible to everyone. New technologies can help, but traditional access must remain so no one is left behind.
