roadmap for Texas forward 2025

The Texas Forward party is crafting solutions for the problems facing Texans every day. But how does this impact you, and what is the plan going forward?

First some quick background. The national Forward Party was founded not off of ideology, but data and a commitment to democratic progress. What that really means is that instead of doing something because ‘that’s the way its done’, the party leadership does serious deep dives into how to make true lasting change. They lead differently with leadership through service, rather than leadership through directive. 7 states have already hit official party status, proving our National party. Texas is in the process of obtaining official party status, allowing us to put our candidates on the ballot each election. Texas is the hardest state to get in on the ballot, but we’re already ahead of many other states due to the natural fit the Forward party has with Texas’ spirit.

We aren’t following the status quo, and that’s by design. We’re about building consensus, enabling true democracy via election reform and modern data driven solutions, redirecting the politics of today back to the ground, and solving problems with innovation and diplomacy. We are the future of Texas, because what leadership Texas has now will never sustain our state. More people become disenfranchised with the 2 party system every day, and they’re joining us.

Today, the Forward party actively operates in 14 counties. The county parties work to host events which focus on local governance and civics, as well as building awareness of the Forward Party. When we develop policy, we don’t do it at an office in Austin. We do it from our active counties, by people who know the local landscape. Power plants, water sources, cultural issues, housing availability, local businesses and so much more can’t be represented by an elected official who spends their time in Austin and focused on campaigning all the time. But our county chairs can - because they spend their time with locals, talking about problems and becoming experts in the local issues. They then work together to build policy proposals, grouping up which whichever counties are beneficial for each challenge. With this cross county collaboration unlocks serious innovation. The state level leadership works to enable the development of policy and infrastructure, by providing technical, legal, and facilitation support. The state party works to build infrastructure tools which empower voters, the local parties, and all future Forward candidates.

This is how we will give every Texan their vote back. By building a truly powerful democratic machine. And it’s already working, as we look to Utah’s recent successes we are inspired by the future we know we can build. Our previous system failed us. It’s time for a new one. So join us as we move through the following stages of our movement.

Humanity First

Strategy, funding, sponsorships… none of it matters if we don’t have a strong network of volunteers that are enabled to make change and solve problems. So our first and foremost focus is on each other - the needs of all of our volunteers, the problems they face, any training they need, and the social connection that makes grassroots more powerful than the alternatives. The Forward Party leadership aims to support their volunteers, showcase gratitude for each and every contribution, and recognize that we’re only going to move forward together. We’re here to build a culture of true democracy, and reform starts with We, The People.

Activate All 254 Counties

Texas is big, and we are currently working to build onboarding tools to enable a rapid expansion of volunteers, chairs and processes that enable each county to operate and complete their objectives. From clearing extremism out of our ISDs, to building sustainable reliable power infrastructure, to handling massive changes in our city populations, extreme weather events and more. Our local groups work to solve problems that face all Texans. And they need tools and training to do it well.

Buff Local

We are effectively a startup, aiming to provide a series of services to all people in Texas. Startups are fast paced, innovative, ready to pivot at any moment, and able to maintain momentum throughout all of it. Our volunteers have to do this all without pay, and around their jobs or other responsibilities. We hope to provide as much support to each local county as possible, as soon as possible. This means scaling our funding rapidly, making it incredibly efficient, and using it to support operations in each county. It means having great digital tools available to our counties, alongside the training to use them. It means having a support team in State that helps organize, communicate, and analyze your local strategies which means skilled, caring individuals available to talk to and work with throughout the year.

  • More media = More donations (social media managers, social influencers, meme makers, forum moderators)

  • More tech savvy volunteers (websites, databases, automation, open source development, devops and more)

  • More support staff (communications, project managers, scrum masters, coaches, teachers)

2026 Ballot Access

Texas law requires that we must earn ballot access by collecting signatures during a narrow window of a given election year. The Forward Party of Texas aims to collect thousands of signatures in order to get on the ballot in 2026. Almost anyone can sign, and if you weren’t going to vote in a primary Republican election, you’d be best off signing our petition. It costs most people nothing but a few seconds, and it’ll give Texan’s power to change the direction of the State.

Scale Policy Creation

Our policy creation strategy is one of our defining strengths. In order to produce more innovative, well rounded, practical and truly inspiring legislation, candidates and legislatures need better policy ideas. They aren’t going to craft them, we are. They will take what we work with and polish it up to fit into the Texas political workings - we’re the architects, they’re the builders.

What we need is more people being able to input their ideas in coherent, thorough ways. And we need ways to comment and build on these ideas. We need a virtual tool that is both accessible and secure, allowing facilitation of advanced development of ideas. We’re building this tool, and will make it available to all Forwardists. This policy creation strategy will produce better results than the 2 party system ever could, and we’ll prove it by starting with local policies in our active counties.

Build Forward Candidates

We’ve got to have a pipeline to build candidates, not wait on people to figure things out on their own. Navigating something as big as a political campaign is beyond daunting, and scares a lot of people away. That shouldn’t be the case, as every community deserves to be represented by those who care and understand their community, not someone with outside dollars and a contact on the inside. So, we’re building out a candidate support pipeline. We won’t just offer money and marketing, we’re here to help guide each candidate to build a practical, data driven platform with the direct voice of Texan’s as the core of any movement. Our Candidate Recruitment Committee works to develop this pipeline and can help anyone whose interested in running, and they’ll only get better over time as we grow and get more wins.
